Pre-construction Community Meeting
The Department of Parks and Recreation and Department of General Services would like to provide you with an update on the new Sherwood play space, which will be built this year to provide a new playground for both the community and school.
Through community meetings held in late fall 2013, as well as through online surveys, we received great feedback about Sherwood/SWS that was used to develop the concept design. We hope that you are as excited as we are about the playground renovations and upgrades!
The next step in this process will be a pre-construction community meeting. We will introduce the construction team and discuss the final design, construction schedule, and potential impacts to the site. This
meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 11th, from 7:00pm-8:00pm at Sherwood Recreation Center, 640 10th Street, NE, second floor. Please note that during construction, the Sherwood parking lot and basketball court will be offline. The track/oval will remain online through most of construction.

National Symphony Orchestra: A Trio of Winds
A trio of winds (flute, clarinet, bassoon) from the National Symphony Orchestra will be performing at Sherwood at 6:30pm on Friday, January 10th!
Children and adults welcome!

Sherwood/SWS Playground Meeting – Dec. 3 @ 7pm
Dear Sherwood/SWS playground stakeholder,
Thank you very much for your interest in the new playground to be constructed at Sherwood Recreation Center, for use by both the community and neighboring School-Within-School (SWS). We were delighted that so many of you participated in the first community meeting about this playground, held on November 5, 2013.
As announced at the Nov. 5th meeting and on DPR’s project website (http://dpr.dc.gov/page/play-dc-sherwood-playground-construction), the second community meeting for the Sherwood/SWS playground will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, from 7-8:30pm at Sherwood Recreation Center (640 10th Street NE).
At the December 3rd meeting, the Department of Parks and Recreation and Department of General Services will present concept designs for the new playground for your review. If you are unable to attend, we will also have the designs posted to the project website and will invite your comments via an online survey.
